Newtown Soberton Infant School
We are proud of our close links with Newtown Soberton Infant School and benefit greatly from being located within the infant school setting whilst also having our own bespoke indoor and outdoor space. Over the last three years we have continued to build on and strengthen links with the school. Some examples of this include our participation in school events such as the Christmas Nativity, Easter Bonnet Parade and Sports Day.
We also make good use of the spaces within the school; we use the library space daily for small group story times and both the hall and outdoor playground and equipment to support our gross motor skills and physical development.
The Headteacher of the infant school holds the role of Chair of the Pre School Committee, a role which she undertakes voluntarily to foster the close connections between us.
The staff work together to regularly moderate judgments of children's attainment and progress across both settings and we also make the most of opportunities for joint staff training such as safeguarding and most recently, our Philosophy for Children (P4C) whole school training.
The FONS fundraising group also works tirelessly to raise money for children in both settings through annual events such as the Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Fayre.
Finally, we also have a carefully planned programme of transition for children transferring to Newtown Soberton to ensure your child's start to their education is seamless.
